Our unique position

Family Rights Group is a national voluntary organisation that advocates for the welfare of children who are in contact with social care services

Our unique position derives from:

• Our starting point being the child within the family;
• Our independence from government and statutory services;
• A history of and commitment to listening to, involving, and working with families as equal partners;
• Our commitment to tackling inequality and discrimination and promoting the needs and and views of those who are marginalised;
• Our strong track record of running challenging and innovative projects;
• Our work drawing upon a combination of legal and social work experience;
• Our ability to bring together families, professionals, researchers and policy makers to develop services that better meet the needs of children and families; and
• Our experience in supporting community organisations in developing services for families.
  
  Other agencies may have one or more of these qualities, but Family Rights Group is the only national organisation which brings all these different qualities together.
