Lies in parenting assessment report

Advice needed please on complete fabrications in my parenting assesment report.

Child A (who’s at home with me) allegedly said and done something to child B (who’s on an ICO) during a family time observation. Child A must be extremely clever to be able to be in two places at once, as he wasn’t at either of the observations that were done with child B, he was actually in school at the time.

Given that the report is for the court surely this is contempt of court on their part, what can I do about it?

Dear Its-me-again

Thank you for posting again.

I see that you are concerned about the information stated in your parenting assessment.

You mention that behaviour has been attributed to a child in your care when, in fact, he was not present at the time observations were carried out. It is possible for you to point out this discrepancy to the person who prepared the assessment report. Also, as you mention that there is a court case, you should point this out to your solicitor who can find out more about the error. It may be that this is only a mistake which can be rectified.

I do not believe it would be considered contempt of court to have incorrect information in a report. As stated above, this should be brought to the attention of the report writer and, if they refuse to amend the report or acknowledge that the child in question was not at the venue, then it would be an issue on which the person could be cross examined during the court hearing.

I suggest you discuss this issue with your solicitor.

Best wishes

Suzie
