How long do I give it

I completed my parenting assessment and passed with flying colours (even if it did take them 8 months to complete!). On the 4th of this month I recieved a phonecall from my social worker saying that she has completed her report and I will be able to supervise and begin the process of my partner coming home however she said we just have to wait for her manager to sign off on the report. It's now 3 weeks later and we're still sat around waiting. I have been regularly contacting for updates and I just get told it's a long report and to be patient. But seriously. How long do I give it and is there anything I can do to perhaps speed this up? Surely it doesn't take 3 weeks for someone to read a report and sign it?

Dear CDSFD2,

Congratulations on the positive outcome of your parenting assessment. You must be very pleased. I am sorry to hear that there seems to be a delay in the manager signing off the report. You have waited for three weeks but this has still not happened and you want to know if there’s anything you can do to speed it up.

I would suggest that you could consider:

1) Contacting the manager directly and asking them politely if this could be prioritised. You could explain the impact of the delay on you and your family.

2) Making a formal complaint. This will go directly to the manager and they will have to respond within ten working days. However I would suggest trying to wait a little longer if you can before you go down this route and try contacting the manager directly yourself first.

I hope that this is some help.
Best wishes,
Suzie
