Our advice service

We provide advice to parents, grandparents, relatives, friends and kinship carers who are involved with children’s services in England or need their help. We can help you understand processes and options when social workers or courts are making decisions about your child’s welfare.

One Adoption South Yorkshire

About this service

One Adoption South Yorkshire is the Regional Adoption Agency for South Yorkshire. We commission support for birth families from PAC-UK but we also provide some support services ourselves, including around contact. If families contact the adoption duty officer they will be supported to receive the assistance they require.

This service is available for birth families in

Barnsley, Doncaster, Rotherham, Sheffield

  • The child’s wider family and friends (including grandparents, aunts/uncles)

  • Support for contact with an adopted child, including letterbox contact (contact is sometimes described as ‘keeping in touch’ or ‘family time’)

  • Online, including virtual meetings or webchat
  • Over the phone
