We provide advice to parents, grandparents, relatives, friends and kinship carers who are involved with children’s services in England or need their help. We can help you understand processes and options when social workers or courts are making decisions about your child’s welfare.

Our online advice forums are an anonymous space where parents and kinship carers (also known as family and friends carers) can get legal and practical advice, build a support network and learn from other people’s experiences.
Our get help and advice section describes the processes that you and your family are likely to go through, so that you know what to expect. Our webchat service can help you find the information and advice on our website which will help you understand the law and your rights.
Salary range: £31,300 – 41,300 pro-rata, depending on experience
Location: Home-based with regular travel throughout Wiltshire, and occasionally to Eastleigh, Hampshire (Head Office) for meetings and other areas, based on operational need
Working pattern: 22.2 hours / 3 days per week, to discuss schedule with the successful candidate

We are keen to meet with passionate operational managers, skilled at leading a remote team, with versatile communication skills, and a progressive, forward-thinking perspective on social care services – together with a dedication to high-quality work for families and young people, every time.
Whilst the role is home-based, a successful candidate would need to actively work in person with commissioners, external partners, and communities throughout Wiltshire on a regular basis, depending on service needs. Willingness to travel to other areas, depending on service need and growth is needed.

If you are keen to get creative and explore new opportunities alongside managing and leading an excellent core service, we would love to hear from you.
Experience in delivering Family Group Conferences is preferred, but is not essential for this role, however, a demonstrable awareness of the current challenges that families and young people are facing is, alongside knowledge of solution-focused and strength-based practices is expected.
