This is a term used to describe a child or young person returning home to live with their parents and family. This will be after they have lived away while being looked after by children’s services.

A principle of the Children Act 1989 is that children’s services should work towards reunification wherever possible. In trying to achieve this they should work in partnership with a child’s family.
