Secure accommodation

This type of accommodation purposefully restricts a young person’s liberty, to keep them safe. Secure children’s homes are sometimes referred to as secure units. In order for a child to be placed in a secure placement for longer than 72 hours, children’s services must first seek an order from the court. See secure accommodation order.
