Help us deliver our mission by joining our Trustee Board

Family Rights Group’s mission is to create a more socially just society in which the child welfare and family justice systems support children to live safely and thrive within their family, while strengthening the family and community networks of those children who cannot live at home.

As a trustee, you will play a significant role on the management board, providing leadership, strategic direction including take forward the 2021-26 Strategic Plan and displaying a commitment to the financial viability of the organisation.

We are committed to increasing the diversity of our Board and making sure we best reflect the diversity of the families we serve. This means we would particularly welcome applications from people who were in the care system or raised in kinship care for some or all of their childhood, people from Black, Asian and minoritised ethnic backgrounds and those with different accessibility needs. We are seeking to recruit trustees committed to helping us to deliver our vision.

You will have substantial knowledge and/or experience in at least one of the following areas:

  • academic research expertise in child welfare and family justice
  • leading the introduction and implementation of an equalities and inclusion strategy
  • leading, working within or having personal experience of the child welfare and family justice system
  • finance
  • fundraising
  • human resources
  • child care/child protection or human rights legislation and policy framework.

If you wish to discuss any aspect of the organisation, the role of the trustee or the post, please email Cathy Ashley, Chief Executive cashley@frg.org.uk to arrange an informal discussion.

To apply, kindly submit an application form and equal opportunities monitoring form to office@frg.org.uk by the deadline.

Current deadline for applications is Friday 12th November, but applications after that date may also be considered; interested parties should write to Cathy Ashley at cashley@frg.org.uk

The charity is committed to equality, diversity and inclusion in all aspects of its work, including employment.
