Has anyone had any experience of an RO being overturned by one of the parents?

Thank you

almost. parents 'came back from the dead' after a few years and put us through the mill, convinced the kids that they were the best thing since sliced bread and demanded so much increased contact that the kids were almost living with them. social services supported us all the way, but an 'independent' social worker was completely taken in by them. she didn't even read the files till it was too late, and she realised what our social worker had been telling her was true. we countered their application for the return of the children by putting one in for special guardianship, which social services supported. we were unsuccessful, have been landed with more contact, and this summer the parents will be able to start all over again without neding the leave of the court. can't fault social serves though, they did everything they could.

hi piglet,
don't have any immediate advice to offer, but wanted to send a message of strength and solidarity. the nightmares parents bring when they suddenly decide they can do everything they've been failing to do for so long! maybe one day the law will be changed, but until then all we can do is stick together, share shoulders and info.
you haven't really given details ~ i'm hoping it'll turn out to be an empty threat.
best wishes, old bear
