Its me! ime back again,Thought i would give an update for those of you that are interested. There is an interesting case being heard at the supreme court with a decision expected soon on"does a local authority care plan constitute an assessment". Before you jump on me I may have some slight detail wrong but check it out on the supreme court website its easy to find.On another note our complaints are being considered for judicial review at last. I don't hold out much hope but there it is, the ombudsman is in a pickle.Off for a few days now will let anyone interested in on any developments (only if they are positive)

I think this is the case in the Supreme Court that youngagain is talking about. Not sure its relevant to kinship care but have a read (its not long or complex) and make your own decisions.

Hmm, Thanks everyone for your views,it really seems no different to me at least when a council takes a child in to care and pays a fortune for that service and the goes on to fail to carry out a full assessment of the child and its families needs but there it is.

i agree young again, it still sets a precedent. replace healthcare needs with educational needs ie, a bit of extra tuition versus specialist school, or CAMHS waiting list versus specialist psychologist, and suddenly it becomes relevant to us all.
