How long does L/A take to inform Solicitor?
Hi I received a letter and a phone call from s/w saying that L/A have agreed to pay legal bill for s/g/o and she told me to tell Solicitor to start proceedings straight away...Solicitor has said she cannot start till L/A inform her in writing to her firm what they will pay etc etc as she said they could later during case be awkward and say we didnt say we would pay for this or that...I know she is been very wise and wants to be sure they will pay all but how long does it take for L/A to tell her what they have told me she has emailed them but no response...why have they told me and not Solicitor?? its frustrating as she wrote to them way back in January with her fees and the 3 month intent is past can anyone enlighten me?? Thanks x

If they are intent on communicating with you and not her, perhaps you could send again the details of your solicitor's fees that she has already sent, to the person who wrote to you, asking for details of any limits to the amount they're willing to spend. Would your solicitor be wlling to work with it if this information was spelled out in a letter to you? Or does she want them to write to her directly?
I know it's unreasonable of the local authority not to reply to your solicitor, but if this is going to be the only way to get things moving, then perhaps so be it.
