Correct Steps

Hi everyone,
My daughter and her ex partner are in the middle of fighting for full custody of my grandson and they have just exchanged witness statements ect as they are representing themselves. My daughter asked me to look through them but Im not sure Im allowed too and I dont want to do anything that will lead to trouble. Also if you do write a witness statement do you have to attend the court hearing? Sorry to sound dim but I dont want to cross any lines that I shouldn't.
