ADVICE ON SGO AND PASSPORTS
I recently wrote SGO AND PASSPORTS.....I have hopefully all the documents I need to send off for my g/s passport ie sgo order, deed poll, mothers birth cert. I managed to see mum today, and I asked if she would write a letter, stating she gave us permission to change his surname. well she totally refused, and got quite nasty, saying well you have the deed poll, and then storming off, so I know that I wont get her to do that for us and him.....im just hoping that I can get this passport without it

Thank you for you reply, and yes im not going to mention it to mum again, you are quite right what you are saying Irene. I like to try to keep her in the picture of things, but to be honest I do wonder why I try sometimes, because shes totally not interest at all.

jane brent - just one quick point - I don't know whether the username you are using on this forum is a real name or an assumed name, but if it's 'real' then you may want to change it to something that protects your anonymity.
This is an open forum, that can be read by people who are not members. It means that carers who have not joined yet can check out what the forum is like before taking the plunge of signing up, but it also means that the forum could be read by social workers or other family members, whom you may not want to know about your discussions here. It's why most posters here choose uernames that protect their anonymity (I can give my name as I'm an FRG adviser, and I'm happy for people to know who they're chatting to or getting their advice from).
If you do decide to change your username, then it would automatically be changed for all your posts here.
