The place where contact takes place
Hi there, I was just wondering if anyone can help. Our 10 year old grand-daughter was placed with us as approved family and freinds carers for 16 months. Sadly, she was removed from our care due to break-down of the placement for several reasons and placed in another foster placement. At present we have 4 hours unsupervised contact with the child per week, but the SW is insisting that we keep contact within the area where our grand-daughter now permently lives. Our family members all live over an hour or so away, do we not have the right to see our grand-daughter in the area where her birth family resides so she can continue to develop positive relationships with us all ?

Hi Irene, I understand what you are saying. We are lucky that we see our grandaughter on a regular basis and the foster carers are brilliant. I feel that in time we will have a more positive relationship with them and that they will allow us to bring X over to the odd special family event. In the meantime, we shall continue to 'play ball'. Cheers for your reply...have a great Easter with your family.
