Revoking an SGO

Hi, can an SGO be revoked when the guardian is being investigated by police, for modern slavery, child neglect and child abuse?

If sufficient concerns exist about the immediate safety of the child(ren), then Children's Services should be looking at the situation and taking action if required using an Emergency Protection Order(EPO) if need be. That would last I think 8 days during which it would have to go before a court. If the birth parent is concerned, then they can apply directly to the court for an EPO. However, I would suggest it is best to share those concerns with the social worker and seeking specific legal advice before taking such a step.

If the police have immediate concerns they can execute a police protection order and remove the child(ren) there and then. The child may be kept at the police station or removed to a suitable accommodation (e.g. relative’s home, Foster Care via children’s services) for up to 72 hours.
