I’ve had the social worker come out & tell me that once my baby is born they will be applying to the courts for an interim care order, this is after my pre birth assessment.
I’ve got a copy of my assessment & honestly half of what’s in there is a lie, she took notes at every appointment & she has gone away & just filled in the blanks with what she wanted it too say, I’ve gone through it all & written down what’s not right with it to show my solicitor. My concern is the assessment seems to of been done based on my previous child, there’s a few bits about my unborn baby but the majority of it related to my other child who was removed from my care nearly 7 years ago.
Because of the fact it’s based more on my other child & a lot of it is lies & important parts that we spoke about are missing what can I do? Has anyone else been in this situation? I feel it’s not an adequate representation of me now & because of what’s been said the social worker, her manager & the panel have all gone against me & based on what’s in the assessment I feel the judge will grant the Interim care order & im going to give birth & have to walk away from my baby because social services will take them.
I don’t have long left in this pregnancy & I’ve already bought half the stuff I need for the baby & now I feel like it’s all going too be wasted as there not going to let her return home or if they do 90% of what I’ve bought will be no good or won’t fit. I’m terrified I’ll have to walk away & how’s that going to affect my mental health. It’s horrible they won’t listen to me & give me the chance I’m asking for to prove I’m not a bad parent, I’ll even go into a mother & baby unit if I have too, I’ll do anything to keep my baby with me.
Has anyone been through this but the judge hasn’t granted the order? Or is it likely they will grant the order & im going to loose my baby?
Social worker has lied & now I’m really worried

Fight for your baby, if the SW has lied and you have evidence to prove the lies, then don't give up.

I don’t have proof as such, just that I know the way she has worded things is wrong but there’s no one to back me up, it’s my word against hers & I feel like she’s going too be believed because she’s a SW. I’m hoping when I see my solicitor I can mention it all & they can do something to sort it but I feel like the SW will just lie her way through it all.

Thank you for your further post explaining where you are now with children’s services and the pre-birth assessment which has been completed.
You are very worried about the content of the assessment report and believe that it does not give a true reflection of your current circumstances. The social worker’s recommendation is that children’s services apply to the court for an interim care order. The report, as far as you are concerned, focuses on the historical events relating to your older child. It may be that the social worker has taken the view that there has not been a significant change in your circumstances because the father of your older son is the father of the unborn baby. I understand that you say it was a one-off which led to your pregnancy.
In response to your question what you can do about what the social worker has written in the report, you have already identified the points you are concerned about. It is important that you let your solicitor know what you think of the assessment. It is important to do so as this will give your solicitor the opportunity to consider the report and whether it would be appropriate to ask the court to direct an assessment by an independent social worker.
If there are factual errors in the assessment you can ask the social worker to change these but not his/her professional opinion. Discuss this with your solicitor.
As far as the previous case is concerned, you say the court did not decide who caused your son’s injuries. Did the court decide that it was unclear and could have been either of you which would mean that you both remained in what is described as the ‘pool of perpetrators? Children’s services are likely to be concerned that if no one accepts responsibility for the injuries then they are not able to keep the unborn baby safe and may be worried that the same thing might happen again. I suggest you speak with your solicitor about any findings made by the court in the previous court case. Please read this GUIDE about how to work with a solicitor.
It may be possible for you to have a further assessment in a mother and baby unit. This would involve very close monitoring of you and how you are able to care for your baby. It is not possible to give tell you whether you will be able to have your baby in your care as it will be for the court to make the decision. Your solicitor will represent you and put forward the best case for you to look after your baby even this is with additional support.
It is good that you have been able to maintain contact with your son and have a close relationship with him. Would your mother be willing to care for your baby if the decision was that you are not able to do so.
I see from reading the previous responses to your questions that links were sent to you about your current situation, and it may be helpful for you to look at those links again. Here is a link relating to care proceedings to help you understand the court process.
Hope this is helpful
Best wishes
