Dear Fuzzycat,

That a good question which I do not have a definitive answer.

Under the General Data Protection Regulations there are new principles that govern local authority’s keeping information about children.
In the local authority not far from where Family Rights Group is based, it is 10 years after an initial assessment has been closed, when the assessment did not proceed to a child protection investigation.

I suggest you check with your local authority or you could contact the Information Commissioners office.

Best wishes,

Suzie
