Will care proceedings affect job?

Unread post by Songstress75 » Wed Mar 13, 2019 8:55 pm

Hi and thanks for adding me.

I am currently in care proceedings due to last 10 months until Sept. 10 year old with me no order 11 year old on ICO until end of proceedings.

Accusation is FII so no notice of proceedings straight from CiN to ICO.

I need to get a job as previously was full time carer for eldest. Question is can I work in a school with this hanging over me? Police not pursuing charges as no evidence.

Thanks

I am a registered nurse. Currently in care proceedings. It's a long story. My manager has always known about my issues with my son. I am still currently at work and my management are so supportive. Be honest and open about the situation.

Dear Songstress,

I would have expected your details to have been registered with the Disclosure and Barring service. Before you can work in a school, DBS checks would be made.

To find out more have a look at the information about the Disclosure and Barring Service which deals with checks against people who work with children or vulnerable adults. There are details about the procedure for registering people and the process to challenge any negative decisions or conditions placed on your registration.

I hope this helps.

Best wishes,

Suzie
