I'm no expert here and not judging anyone but I think your in a difficult position here because children's services will not see it as a isolated incident although I under stand what you and your partner are saying they will say that if he occurred a first time there's always a risk of it happening again and they will have to see it with that point of view

Dear SaD4040

Welcome to the parents’ discussion forum and thank you for your post.

I see you posted the same question several times. I am sorry I was not able to respond as quickly as I would have wanted due to high volume of work.

You have not provided details about your situation but from your question, I assume that children’s services had safeguarding concerns which might have led to your child or children being placed on a child protection plan following s.47 investigations and initial child protection conference.

As there now seems to be a child in need, it appears that following a review child protection conference the decision was made that the child/children could be removed from child protection to child in need. This suggests that children’s services and other professionals working with your family are satisfied that the concerns which led to s.47 have reduced enough so child in need is the best way to monitor your family.

It is also the case, that when there has been a child protection plan, normally the case will go to child in need for a period of time before children’s services decides that the case can be closed.

Please read our advice sheets Child protection procedures and Family support for more information about child protection (s.47) and child in need (s.17)/.

Should you wish to speak to an adviser you can telephone our advice line on 0808 801 0366. The advice line is open form 9.30am to 3pm Monday to Friday (except Bank Holidays).

I hope this is helpful.

Best wishes

Suzie
