Help and advice
Hi can anyone tell me who I can call for advice on my partner and myself and our rights against social services. We have gone through a tough time and at present we are being told we can't be together or they will become involved however we really need to know our rights but can't ask these people directly. If anyone can help point us in the direction of someone or some group who can listen and advise it would be much appreciated.

Re: Help and advice
Dear UKparent
Welcome to the parents’ discussion and thank you for your post.
My name is Suzie, online adviser at Family Rights Group.
I am sorry that you and your partner have, as you say, ‘gone through a tough time’ with children’s services (the new name for social services).
You say that children’s services are saying you cannot be with your partner or they will become involved. Unfortunately, you have given no information about how or why they became involved in the first place so it is difficult to advice you.
I think you may find it helpful to look at a couple of our advice sheets and, once you have had an opportunity to read these, you can post again if you need further advice. An introductory guide to Children’s Services and Child protection procedures
Alternatively, you can telephone our advice line on 0808 801 0366 to speak to an adviser. The advice line is open from 9.30am to 3pm Monday to Friday.
I hope this is helpful.
Best wishes
Suzie
