Any Advice desperate mum??
Hi my 8yr old daughter was taken into foster care on October 3rd due to the fact my ex is a sex offender I told social I ended it when I hadn't because I cared for him but he reoffended and they took her .. i have ended the relationship had therapy to deal with low self esteem and confidence I'm still having sexual abuse therapy to deal with what happened to me as a child I've done the freedom programme online and will do the actual course once lock down is over I've been assessed by Lucy Faithfull to make sure I'm not a risk just waiting for the report to come back .. social services don't want a parenting assessment because I've been told I'm a good mum they need to be sure I can put my daughters needs above my own and that I can safeguard her.. I really want her home being without her is heartbreaking I've looked for courses ect but I can't find anything else my solicitor said ive done enough but it doesn't feel enough .. Is there any advice from anyone? I really need the judge to see that I can see what I did wrong and Ive tried my very best to change. .

Dear BrokenMother91
I am sorry to hear about your situation, from what you have said you have undertaken therapy and courses that will have helped you lift your self-esteem and address the issues that harmed you in the past. I do hope the report from Lucy Faithfull will be very positive about you and that your solicitor will help you to present your case in a manner that convinces the judge and other professionals that you can keep your daughter safe in the future.
There may be some tips on this website, Parents Protect that will help you, and pursuing the Freedom Programme once the lockdown is lifted may help too.
I do hope that you are having some form of contact with your daughter during this coronavirus outbreak, we have produced a document that may help, you will find here.
Best wishes
Suzie
