Police checks

Unread post by Pru » Thu May 14, 2020 6:27 pm

Hi

We’ve been allocated a new social worker as our last one got a new post. I was just wondering if the previous social worker and her manager was happy with my partners police checks and was happy for my partner to live with me & my 3 kids, can the new social worker decide that she does have a problem?

I’m really worried because social care have ascertained that my partner serves as a protective & supportive figure in terms of my violent son.

Dear Pru

If the previous social worker and manager were happy with any assessments and the outcomes, the new social worker may not try to change or adjust their decisions. It may be the case that the manager is the same person who approved the previous social worker’s assessment. If you are worried ask the social worker whether she will work from the previous decisions.

If your son is violent towards you or others perhaps you might ask the new social worker if there are any support services the local authority can provide you with to help with your son’s behaviour.

I hope this helps.

Best wishes

Hi
Thanks for your response. I think what I was needing reassurance with is despite my partner living with us for 4 weeks since police checks were done and the previous SW granted this can the new SW say he can’t be here? Despite the checks already been done and okayed
