Dear BMCG

Welcome to the discussion forum and thank you for your post.

My name is Suzie, online adviser at Family Rights Group. I see that you have some concerns about a report which relate to your daughter’s 4 children. This report has information which is incorrect and failed to include information which you believe is important.

As you have mentioned a core group meeting, I assume that the children are currently on child protection plans. If this is the case you may find it helpful to read our advice sheet Child protection procedures for more information about child protection procedures.

Regarding the inaccuracies in the report, your daughter can ask the social work to change factual errors, although if the social worker has expressed a professional opinion, this does not have to be changed. If it is the case that the social worker says that changes cannot be made to the report now, then your daughter can write out the correct facts and ask for this to be placed on file. As you are your daughter's main support you could also, perhaps, ask to have a meeting with the social worker's team manager to discuss your concerns,

You have not given any information regarding the reasons that children’s services has become involved with your daughter and her children so, I have responded here to your specific question relating to the report which was received.

Should you have any further questions, feel free to post again or, if you wish to speak to an adviser, you can telephone our advice line on 0808 801 0366. The advice line is open from 9.30am to 3pm Monday to Friday (except Bank Holidays).

I hope this helps.

Best wishes

Suzie
