Hi all,
I am very new to this all... I am after some advice and I know I am not likely to get answers.
So, I am in a relationship with a guy who has a past of being accused of having tracks of indecent images found on a hard drive/ laptop. This was investigated and over a space of 2/3 years it never went to court and it had a no further action outcome.
In his past relationship his former spouse had children in which their fathers reported this to children services and this prevented his spouse from seeing her children.
Say in the future myself and my guy wanted to start a family. How would this pan out? Would this have to be taken into consideration by children services too?
Regards

Dear Gottohavefaith,
Welcome to the parents' board and thank you for your post.
You say in your post that you are in a relationship with someone who who was previously accused of possessing indecent images of children. This was investigated but did not lead to a conviction. In a previous relationship, he was prevented from seeing his ex-partner's children, after a referral to children's services was made by the children's father. You would like to know what may happen in the future if you were to have a child with your partner in relation to children's services involvement.
If you were to become pregnant, professionals involved in your care, or any person who has concerns about your partner's past, may make a referral to children's services. Children's services may want to complete an assessment in order to better understand any risks that your partner may pose to your future child and what safeguards are in place. Based upon the outcome of the assessment, they may recommend future involvement, such as a child in need plan, or if they have more serious concerns, they may initiate child protection enquiries. For more information on what to expect from an assessment, take a look at our advice sheets 4- Family support and 9-Child protection procedures.
You may find it helpful to contact the Lucy Faithful Foundation, Stop it Now helpline, you can find the link here.
Best Wishes,
Suzie
