iioc guilty until proven innocet
2 weeks ago i was arrested for iioc. i have had my devices taken, however i am beyond confident nothing will be found. i have been released on bail with conditions that effected my career and seeing my children. i know your thinking, so far this sounds about right. well this is where it gets intresting. whilst being questioned at the station, it was revealed that my ex was also arrested because the images in question where found on her device and she has accused me. This is now having such a huge effect on my mental because of the stigma that comes with this? 2 weeks ive heard nothing, and stiil no proof ive ever had such images, yet my ex who also works with children, is still living with my kids. PLEASE TELL ME IM NOT WRONG IN THINKING THIS ISNT RIGHT. also how is it fair that the police are leaving me hanging for so long without proof of any images. im so scared of the effects this will have on the relationsip i have with my kids, and dont know what to do, ANY advice? thanks

Dear scared789
Welcome to the Board. I am sorry to read of your situation. From what you have written your ex-partner indicated to the professionals that you were the likely person in the home accessing images using the devices, including hers.
In such circumstances, for example, children’s services ‘weigh up likelihood of’ one person who says they are ‘innocent’ versus, shall we say, the other who may be arrested and on bail. Children’s services will require the person on bail to ‘stick to their bail conditions’ - often this may mean staying away from the family home and the children in that home.
The Lucy Faithfull’s (Stop it Now helpline) may be useful to you at this time, and Mind has some tips about how to seek help for mental health concerns. The Government provides information on their website about the police and what happens if a person is arrested. We have some information on our website about child protection too, you can find it here.
I hope these signposts are helpful.
Best wishes
Suzie

Re: iioc guilty until proven innocet
Thanks suzie i cant help but feel this is down to the fact im male. me and my ex have not lived togther for over 5 months, however her new partner has been livng there. i appreciate the police have to investigate, and as mentioned before i am beyond confident no images will be found on any of my devices. also i had no access to her devices. its just so frustrating not being able to see my children, nd likly to lose my career over this, because of my bail conditions. especially when there is no proof ive ever possessed any images of this nature, and the police seem in no hurry to even check ( it would be easier to understand if there was proof , not just my exs accusation). As for child services, ive not heard anything from them, which i thought i would as i am the biological parent of both children, and as both parents were arrested. i know the truth will come out, and i will be able to see my children again, but this whole being left in limbo is not helping anyone.
