Advice please
Hi I joined this site and any advice would be appreciated, my child is fifteen and she has autism, social services removed her nearly four years ago and put her on a long term care order because of a domestic abusive relationship I was in as I kept going back to him, I always felt it was my fault and that I could change him , when my child was put on lac I left the relationship that’s nearly four years ago , I know it was my fault, I just don’t know how long I have the suffer for my past mistakes, my child wants to come home to me I see her twice a month unsupervised but they say I can’t take her to my home , they keep saying risk of future harm as I was married for 19 years to child’s father who was abusive then I left him and got with another man who turned out to be abusive , my heart breaks without my child please can someone help me

Re: Advice please
Dear burnettelady75
Thank you for your post and welcome to our board.
I am sorry to read of your difficult situation.
You have said that you have made significant changes since your daughter was removed from your care but children’s services do not agree with her returning to your care.
May I suggest that you ask the social worker and the independent reviewing officer why there is no plan for you to be reunited. Perhaps, at the next looked after child review meeting (LAC) you could ask for more contact with your child with the view to having overnight stays.
Care orders can be discharged, here on our website is information about how to do this.
I hope this information is helpful.
Best wishes
Suzie
