Dear TwistedCouncil

Welcome to the parents’ discussion forum. Thank you for your post. My name is Suzie and I am Family Rights Group’s online adviser.

I think that your sibling is an adult with a disability. Family Rights Group advise families where there is a social worker involved with their child (under 18). So your query is outside our remit.

You may be able to get the advice you need from one of the following organisations (depending on your sibling’s age and needs):

Mencap
Scope
Mind
Age UK
Citizens’ Advice Bureau

If you would like legal advice from a solicitor you can check the Law Society find a solicitor find a solicitor facility.

If you are unhappy and want to complain about decisions or actions taken by your sibling’s local authority they will have a complaints procedure which you should be able to find online.

I hope this helps.

Best wishes

Suzie
