Hiya,
I'm new to this and never posted before! But desperately need some help.
My children are going to be placed for adoption without going into to much detail children's services took my children last may in January this year my partner and I were forced to split and the children were placed back with me I had to sign a written agreement to have no contact with my partner. I was doing so well but I wasn't strong enough emotionally to cut the contact. Children's services found out and they have been removed.
Since then I haven't coped at all well, I am devastated I can't see a life without my children.
Where do I go to for help? Support? Counselling? How do I get through this
Please advise
Thanks

Re: Coping with adoption
Dear Upset Anon,
Thank you for posting on our board. I’m sorry to read of your distress.
I recommend you contact After Adoption (http://www.afteradoption.org.uk/ or 0800 840 2020). They are an organisation that offers advice and support to those families who are affected by adoption, both those people who have already had children adopted and those whose children Children’s Services are planning to place for adoption. If you want it, they can also put you in touch with other people going through the same experience for peer support.
Also you should be offered an independent support worker as well as counselling and written information about adoption. Please speak to the social worker if you haven’t received this already.
So you can understand the adoption process please read our advice sheet on adoption (http://www.frg.org.uk/images/Advice_She ... hority.pdf).
If you have any questions, please do post again or call our free and confidential advice line on 0808 801 0366, Monday to Friday from 9.30am to 3pm.
Best wishes
Suzie
