Maintain contact
I want to stay in contact with my ex (my closest and best friend) apparently I'm a potential witness in his case and the police say I can no longer have contact with him. They have been aware that I have had contact with him in the 3 years since the orginal incident. Social services have been involved over the 3 years and as the contact I have with him is away from the home and does not include my daughter in anyway they had no concerns and closed the case. I cant get a straight answer from anybody in the sense that once he has been sentenced and I'm no longer a witness will I then be able to have contact again?

Re: Maintain contact
Dear Moomoo21
Thank you for your question and welcome to our Board.
I am sorry but I am not going to be able to give you an answer either. Here is a link from Citizen’s Advice about what might be required of you as a witness.
Here too is information from the Government website about witnesses and going to court.
May I also suggest that you contact the police service that advised you about having contact with your friend.
Best wishes
Suzie
