Extra judicial safeguarding block

Unread post by Allcry » Tue May 21, 2024 1:15 pm

Hi,

I appear to be on a blacklist. Referrals to safeguarding from police, gp, nhs, disappear in MASH. Requests for information are ignored. Complaints are delayed and never upheld. I have no criminal convictions or orders. But i cannot access services.

This has an effect on my contact with my three children. I am concerned about my youngest son. Who appears to be suffering mental health issues. I made a separate safeguarding complaint about his mothers continuing false injuries and illness. But has been stalled since 2022-2024. His mother is the one who made the false allegations in 2019 which led to my arrest.

The false allegation led to my arrest are NFA’d. Injuring a child. (Yes, i now understand that saying false allegations actually means you must be an abuser. I hope that organisation will change their training). This was my first ever arrest. I holding cell, i suffered shock and depression related to the arrest. My gp diagnosed pre PTSD (acute reaction disorder) and, mixed anxiety and depression. My gp referred me for therapy to local. But i was repeatedly refused. I believed this is blocked by MASH.

Since 2019, i have recieved no care from the nhs for my mental health. After 3 years i had to pay private. An example of the refusal is that i was referred by my doctor for mental health. I was then told by nhs that i was either: too high needs or too low needs, for 2 years. I complained and then was told they do not do therapy. However i was referred by gp for therapy,(i guess he knows nhs does therapy), my new partner received therapy with nhs, and it said they do therapy on “their” nhs website.

the LA agreed to me being arrested. They failed to investigate the allegations. Based on me injuring my son and expartner. They then passed to family court cafcass that i had injured my son and that i had a restraining order. However son was not injured and i did not have a restraining order.

The la refused to open a stage 2 children investigation. Instead after MP intervention they opened a stage 1 corporate complaint. Because they did not have enough information for a children act complaint.

I think they do have all the information. (Their prejudice.) They have a policy for checking but they did not. i think they just don't want to investigate “their” lack of investigation.

My question is, re X MASH cover up, what can i do?
Issue happened 2019. I found out they lied 2021, and complained immediately. In their complaint response, the LA admitted failure to inform me at the time and for not checking information. They refuse to accept this had an effect on my contact with three children.

How do i get rid of this block?

Dyslexic, my apologies for spelling mistakes.

The LA want me to complain to the ombudsmen. Who as above always uphold their side.

Dear Allcry,

Thank you for your post and welcome to the parents' forum.

You say that you have made referrals to multiple agencies, including children's services, and requests for information which have been ignored. You have also made complaints that are delayed and not upheld. You are concerned about the care of your youngest son by his mother - it appears you have reported this to children's services but nothing has come from it. You say that your child's mother made false allegations against you and you were arrested but this led to no further action. As a result of this you were diagnosed with a number of mental health issues, and were referred to therapy but believe that MASH is block this. You have not received the support you need from the NHS. You say that children's services passed on incorrect information to CAFCASS. You say that the local authority refused to open a stage 2 complaint, but did open a stage 1 corporate complaint. You would like to know what you can do about MASH not responding to your referrals. The local authority have asked you to go to the Ombudsman.

I am sorry to hear about all the difficulties you have had with children's services. A MASH team is responsible for receiving and progressing referrals made to children's services. If you have made a referral that leads to no further action, someone from children's services should report this back to you and explain why.

If you are unhappy with this, you can make a formal complaint to the local authority. It sounds as though you have already done this and that you have now been told to go the Ombudsman. Typically, a complainant would escalate their complaint to Stage 3 before going to the Ombudsman - I am not clear if that has happened yet. If not, I would urge you to do this, and then if you are unsatisfied, to take it to Ombudsman. here is our webpage on complaints, which explains each stage of the process, the underpinning law, and what steps you can take beyond complaining to the local authority.

Best wishes,

Suzie.
