My two children were taken off of me after my 17 month old had an accident resulting in his bottom 4 teeth sadly being knocked out as he pulled a radiator cover on himself as I put the washing in the machine. They did a scan on LO on his chest to ensure he hadn’t inhaled the tooth we couldn’t account for. He hadn’t luckily and we were let home. As we got home we were called back into the hospital as they had found a healing rib fracture. We are totally beside ourself and totally clueless how it happened. They’ve done 6 scans now. One went for a second opinion and didn’t come back. The second full skeletal was done Friday and is now waiting for a second opinion. It’s one rib. We had no idea. We haven’t been shown the fracture at all so have no idea what type of injury it is. In fact we were told it’s healing but it’s coarse. So it hasn’t been healing smoothly back together. At his second scans (I’m aware we aren’t trained to see anything!) but they looked exactly the same both sides of his rib cage. No sign of fracture or break or anything. They took my boys off me and ones with his dad the other is with my mum under a section 20. Has anyone been through similar and had a positive outcome? I’m desperately scared and I want my boys home so badly. We are on week 3 now and I’m really struggling. We are allowed 2 hours supervised access each day. The access is with my mum and my other sons dad. My oldest has been interviewed by social services and they said he was a credit to me. A wonderful child. They saw me with my youngest and had no concerns.
I’m on bail for GBH and child neglect which is horrifying. I’ve barely been able to function most days.
We are now sitting playing the waiting game for the second results and opinions to come back.
Please someone share positive stories. I’d never ever harm my boys and this has shocked me. I can literally feel my heart breaking.
The SW solicitors said they won’t provide a second opinion on the first scan now until the second scan has come back. They’ve taken 10 days with the first scan to decide that. They’ve only had preliminary medical results which were inconclusive. They haven’t even been able to confirm it’s a fracture.
This is mortifying.
Thank you.
