question about social worker conduct
Hi, Random quick post, Is it professional for a social worker to allow a 11-12 year old girl sit on their knee? should it be a case of telling the child to not do that?

Dear poundedskate7
Thank you for your further posts. I am sorry that I was not able to reply to you sooner.
You have a query about how a social worker should respond to an 11-year-old girl sitting on their knee and whether it is professional for them to allow this. You do not provide any context to the situation, so it is not appropriate for me to comment.
However, if you are worried, especially if it relates to your own child, then I would recommend that you raise your concern promptly with the social worker concerned and/or their manager to seek their response. If you are unhappy with their response, you can consider making a complaint.
You can contact the NSPCC to discuss any worries you may have about the child’s safety or welfare.
And if you have specific concerns about a social worker’s fitness to practise then you can contact Social Work England.
I hope this is helpful.
Best wishes
Suzie

Re: question about social worker conduct
Hi, I don't think it matters on the context, a child sitting on a social workers knee surely shouldn't be allowed and the child told they can't do that,
We had a social worker five years ago and our eldest daughter randomly sat on her knee and since then she has continued to work with her but now as a youth mentor and never reported that she previously worked with us, she now buys her treats and dresses that I don't deem appropriate and also takes her to the cinema etc, if it was a male it would be more of a frown but in this day and age I don't feel it's appropriate either and it's led to us having the children removed because her secret investigation and talking leading questions with our daughter as led to that.
