Hi,
A social worker has recently carried out a section 47 assessment and is looking to close the assessment.
The social worker has requested the nursery and GP details again. My question is, is this section 47 assessment going to be on my child’s records even though it’s been closed?

Re: Following Section 47 Assessment
Dear Jofulworld
Welcome to the parents’ discussion forum and thank you for your post.
My name is Suzie, online adviser at Family Rights Group. I see from your post that children’s services have decided to close your case following a s.47 child protection investigation. This is a good outcome for you and your family.
Your question is whether the s.47 assessment is going to be on your child’s records even if the case is closed. The answer is yes children’s services records will show their previous involvement with the family. If there is no further involvement, then this information is unlikely to be used children’s services but will remain on their system. The school and GP would have been aware of children’s services involvement as the social worker would have made enquiries of them as part of the assessment.
Hope this helps.
Best wishes
Suzie
