Social services not protecting my children

Post by Itsme24 » Wed Jan 15, 2025 9:59 am

So cut the long story short as i can
I have been divorced over 4 years and we been doing 50/50 shared contact with my 2 children thats had no issues, untill beginning of December.

The x has decided to take the children, and throwing all sorts of accusations at me.

at the beginning of december she decided to block all contact between me and the girls on there ipads, when the girls left me for my week to go back to the mothers for the week everythig was normal fine kisses cuddles love you's and see you next weeks as normal all fine.

a week later when i supposed to get them back she send me a email stating she is keeping the children due to safeguarding issues.

i apply for child arrangments order which is a still on going case.

in the mean while i saw my youngest at the school playground why i was walking dog in jan and she was scared seeing me, i called school arranged meeting which i had, and school admited child was sacred seeing you, well this make it obvious that she is saying nasty stuff about to me to the children, yet i report this to social and all they are doing is brushing this under the carpet, yet this is emotinal abuse.

as to if i was sitting there slating the mother im sure this would not be aloud.

the emotional abuse she is casuign them chidlren and will ne counciling after surely this is not rite.

Dear Itsme24,

Thank you for your post and welcome to the parents’ forum.

My name is Suzie and I am an online adviser replying to you today.

I am sorry to read about your stressful circumstances.

I am not clear from your post whether children’s services are involved with the children, or instead you are contacting children’s services to make them aware of the situation with your children and your concern about possible emotional abuse.

You write that your ex-wife has cited safeguarding concerns as a reason for the contact not going ahead. If children’s services are already involved and have identified any safeguarding issues or given advice to your ex, you should be made aware of this. The Family Rights Group page for fathers here provides useful guidance on how social workers should interact with and keep fathers informed of their involvement, if any. There is also information on this page about the child protection process, how to report concerns and possible responses from children's services.

You are currently in private family law proceedings re the child arrangements order. Family Rights Group does not advise on private family law. You may already have a solicitor, but if not you could use the Law Society database to find legal representation in your area here.

You can read about child arrangements orders on the Child Law Advice website here. Support through Court offer free online advice and also have a helpline for people who are representing themselves in court. You can link to their website here.
I hope this information was useful to you. Please feel free to come back to us for further support.
There are many different ways to contact Family Rights Group.

• A free telephone advice line open Monday to Friday between 9.30am and 3pm (excluding Bank Holidays) on 0808 801 0366
• Easy-to-follow online information. Features include an A-Z, FAQs, films, ‘top tips’ and legal advice sheets;
• Online forums where families can receive advice, discuss issues, and find support;
• A webchat service where you can message an adviser online, who will help you find information and advice to support you.
• A web enquiry form – to help you submit an email and receive a reply within five working days.

Best wishes,
Suzie
