Unread post by Bubbles92 » Sat Jan 18, 2025 3:34 pm

So I use to have a worker in the centre then went to outside contact with the worker then the foster carer took over and she seems to be taking over too much doing the roles I should be doing whilst I’m seeing my son what are the foster carer roles during contact can someone please tell me?

Dear Bubbles92

Thank you for your post. You want to know more about your son’s foster carer’s role as she now facilitates your contact with your son. She has a role in supervising. She also needs to respond to your son’s needs as his carer. However, the purpose of contact is for you and your son to spend time together and promote your relationship, in a safe environment.

As you provide more detail in your earlier post about what you are worried about and why it may be a good idea to look at my response which provide suggestions for how you can clarify this and get help to make the experience better. You should have a contact agreement or plan too which sets out the boundaries.

I hope this helps.

Best wishes

Suzie
