Lost residency of my child but back to square one with ex

Unread post by zubie123 » Tue Nov 12, 2013 4:50 pm

Hi,

I had been fighting in court for nearly a year to get my daughter back from her father who took her away from me out of spite and the power to control me. The final hearing was in October and residency was awarded to him and basically all control of contact is now in his hands. My ex is already playing games, not turning up for contact and always having excuses, i am literally back to square one and do not know where to turn, i have lost all faith in the justice system. I am extremely concerned for my ex's mental health and also what damage this could be doing to my already traumatized 3 year old daughter. He projects all of his behavior onto me, in his head i am the one that has not turned up for contact and that i am trying to make life difficult for him but it is plain to see for me and all my family and friends that he is the one with a problem. How and who i am supposed to raise these issues with to prove that he needs help, i have done my research on mental health disorders and my ex is summed up as someone with anti-social/ narcissistic personality disorder. I know that he has had a brain injury which i brought up in court but amazingly there is no record of this, i just do not know what i am supposed to do, carry on dealing with his crap that is already stressing me out, keep fighting a loosing battle or give up on my child??? I am so lost! Hope you have some helpful suggestions!

Hi Zubie,

Thank you for posting on our parents’ board and I’m sorry to read about the distressing situation you are in.

Unfortunately, this is not something we advise about at Family Rights Group. We give advice to families who are involved with Children’s Services, the new name for social services. The advice you need is about an issue between two individuals, known as private law proceedings, which includes residence orders.

I would recommend you contact Rights of Women or Children’s Legal Centre for more information.

I’m sorry I was unable to help you and I wish you all best with your matter.

Best wishes

Suzie
