Welcome to the board
I am sorry to hear that you are having a difficult time. Allegations and fallouts with family can be very distressing.
I thought I would let you know what the initial assessment is like so you are not confused. An initial assessment takes up to 45 days. The assessment will contain observations, opinions and statements from the social worker, yourself and professionals involved with your child. The aim of the assessment is to gather information to see what tailored help you require and what risks are posed to your child's welfare.
As long as you coperate with the social worker. Speak with your social worker polite and calmly and accept suggested help, then you should build a strong start for your intervention. I know it is difficult and I myself had been through an assessment. I was not calm and polite and it lead to further concerns and prolonged the intervention. I also advise you to not name call or talk foul about the uncle. Your behaviour, your body language and the way you present yourself will be observed closely. As such try to present yourself calmly so that the social worker has a good picture of your character.
I would also recommend that you interact with you child during the visit so that the social worker can observe your relationship with your child. Instead of trying to cater as a good host.
I hope my advice has been helpful and I Wish you good luck.

Thank you !! Yes this is very distressing...but I have nothing to hide . I know I do my best ...prioritize my son before everything...I am confident in my parenting skills and strive to build the best world around my son so he flourishes and enjoys his life.
I will not be dragged down to his level of defamation of my charachter. I will rise to the nurtured intellect I have gained and wisdom through personal life development .
I used to think to fight fire with fire but now I see that to fight fire with water is a much better option for myself and my son.
I have faith that the truth will prevail and put an end to this experience I really would not wish upon anyone who just doesn't deserve it.
Best regards mumzy13

Dear mumzy13
Welcome to the parent's dicsussion baord.
Please try to make sure that you fully engage with the initial assessment which is normally completed within ten working days. In the event that the Local Authority decide that a Core Assessment is necessary they have fourty five days to complete this.
I hope this helps.
Best Wishes
Suzie
