The director of commuities and people can help you
Greetings again all
If you have read any of my threads around my experience with children services, then you will be able to see I have taken many different avenues to get my voice heard. I have learnt a lot through my experience, about all the different types of people and methods to get an issue resolved. To date there are two types of people that have made a much bigger impact then the complanints procedure. Before I go into detail I would like to stress that you should still use the complaint procedure. This is so that there will still be records of issues within the service and because you might not have a "helpful" director of communities and people. So while reaching out to the director I recommend also putting in a complaint with the local authority at the same time.
The director of communities and people has the power to instigate an investigation on your behalf. The director in my region has on two occasions, quite quickly after I have made contact, instigate an investigation of my issues on my behalf. Which might I add was resolved in my favour and I have recieved multiple apologies and caused changes in the system.
The director is literally the director of multiple services in your area. It is who your local MP contacts when you bring up an issue around children services. I would recommend that you ask your MP to speak to the director on your behalf. This way the director will give your case more credence being referred by your MP and your MP can make a strong case for you. However since my MP initially introduced me to the director I have contacted the director directly myself and I have had issues resolved very quickly and efficiently. In fact the director resolved an issue of mine within two days of contacting her.
I hope you will find this information useful and I thank ange for identifying that I should elaborate on this point.
P.s I contacted my director by email. This gave me time to carefully write a thoughtful plea. I got my directors email from my MP. The directors email can also be found on CAF forms if you have had a CAF meeting. There is a director for each region so find out who it is!

oops i emailed them a complaint at 4.09am, i got a reply from the manager of complaints for CSC at 9.07am to confirm it had been passed to them they will reply with what they are going to do about it within 2 working days. Has it been put to normal complaints procedure then? as email was not from the director of communities and people.

Dear whatnow,
E-mail the director again and ask him to clarify matters.
Was it an official complaint you sent or a request for his office to intervene on your behalf ?

hi ange, thanks for the reply,it was an email asking him for help with the problems i have with social care. I explained everything and told him about all the evidence i have etc..anyway i dont think it can help anymore, was in court today, they got ICO based on all the lies and inconsistencies.Even though they asked for the ICO as protection with the rehab home. Im so annoyed the guardian never even met myself or kids and they they opposed the rehab home plan as did the IRO but he wanted me in court to try help me, you know with time lines and make sure social do their job properly....but they got it anyway

Dear whatnow
I am sorry to hear that your situation has deteriorated in respect of your situation. It must be highly frustrating for you.
You may already be aware that the Local Authority will not consider your complaint whilst care proceedings are in progress.
In the meantime, I would continue to work closely with your solicitor and keep them updated about any changes to your family circumstances.
As well as the support offered on this forum, if you wish to speak to an adviser, you can contact our advice line on 0808 801 0366.
I hope this helps.
Best Wishes
Suzie

well it has gone 2 days and i have not heard back, which i am kind of glad about as it could damage the rehab home plan. My biggest fear was that it would all be brushed under the carpet, however it is all on record now, so now i can pursue it after i get the kids back (if this happens) its just so difficult to trust social care after all the lies and corruption. I have a new approach now, hope it works....wish me luck

When you do pick it back up you got to keep on top of it, keep the pressure on and action will be taken.
