Welcome to the Parent's Discussion Board. My name is Suzie, one of FRG's online advisers.

I am sorry to hear that you were excluded from your child's LAC review. The Local Authority have a duty to consult and inform you about key decisions and changes regarding the care plan. It is within your rights to ask for specific reasons why the meeting was held without you being present.

Without having any further details, about your child or family's particular circumstances, could you advise what are your children's legal status? Are they accommodated in voluntary care or placed under a care order?

Either way, the general principle is the same in that the Local Authority have a duty to take reasonable steps to ensure that you can participate in the care plan.
