Hi
Its time to write a letter to my little girl again, I usually write three times a year or more but I just don't know what to write.
I haven't seen her for two years now and have fought the LA all the way.
The letter I have started just seems full of questions like how's school and what is she doing.
I cant tell her how I am because I had a serious mountain bike accident in the summer and still recovering I don't want to scare her or have her worrying about me.
Any advice please
She is 7 and nearly 8
Thanks

Re: What to write
Dear Santa fe, Keep her out of the fray and tell her to be a good girl for her carer/s ,to say her prayers every morning and to remember to keep clean her teeth and to look nice and smart. Tell her this will make you happy and if you get good reports from school you will send her an extra present at Xmas.
Emphasise to her that nothing is her fault as children often suffer from a delusion that they are responsible for what has happened.I am sure others will make suggestions( possibly Suzie will aswell.

Dear santa fe
Thank you for posting on Family Rights Group Parent Discussion Board. My name is Suzie and I am an adviser with FRG.
You said you were having difficulty in writing to your daughter and worried that you were asking too many questions. I think you had good advice on the board about what you could say in your letter.
My suggestion would be that you keep your letter as child focussed as possible. If you do not want to ask questions you could make it a statement about what you think she may have done well. For example, ‘I know you are a good girl so your gymnastics must have got a lot better now”.
Sorry that you had an accident over the summer.
I hope you will be able to send your final letter to your daughter soon.
Best wishes
Suzie

Re: What to write
Dear Santa fe, If it isn't too late yet, focus on the child and find some way of telling her that she did nothing wrong at all to cause the situation. As I said before, many children are extremely tortured within their own minds under that illusion which has a long-term emotional impact on them. They suffer and weep in silence! Also emphasise to her that she still has a loving mummy and daddy who will both always love her and do anything for her. One of my children told me at eight years old that he is mocked and degraded at school for 'having no mum and dad' .
Good luck santa fe and keep in touch with the forum..
