Hi. So here's my story- my life is starting to sound like something out of a soap opera!
My husband and I recieved a visit from a police officer and a social worker approx 8 weeks ago, they had received an anonymous complaint and several allegations had been made in relation to our teenage daughter. They questioned our daughter and left. A week later another social worker arrived and questioned all 3 children, again she left. Just a few days later the same social worker visited our eldest daughter in school and was said to have made a full disclosure, which resulted in her being removed from our care and being placed with a family member. We have since discovered that said family member was the person who made the allegations and has manipulated our daughter and influenced her into going along with these allegations. Unfortunately Children's Services are not taking these concerns seriously and have insisted she stays with said family member. It has now been 6 weeks since our daughter was removed and we have been told by social services that the police have insisted that we are not allowed to see or speak to her, neither are her siblings. She has been put on a child protection plan and we to date have not been able to defend ourselves or fight the allegations.
Is it normal for the police to take so long to get in touch? Is there anything I can do to deal with this? And is there any way I can make Children's Service remove her from the person she is staying with?
This is all the result of an evil vendetta and the instigator is the person she's now staying with, who is undoubtedly bad mouthing us and continuing to turn her against us and influencing her.
I must add that the younger two children remain with us and the cases with them have been closed.
Please help. I don't know what to do or where I stand and I'm missing my girl, it breaks my heart.
Please help

Dear terrifiedmum
Welcome to the parent's board. My name is Suzie, one of FRG's online advisers.
I am sorry you are going through difficulties regarding your 15 year old daughter and the child protection investigation which is currently taking place.
Whilst it is probably a very distressing time for you can I suggest you continue to fully cooperate with professionals at this time, as this is likely to demonstrate your ability to be child focussed and rule in your favour in any future decisions that are made.
You are right to point out whether you should have been contacted by the police at this point. Under normal circumstances it is usual to be contacted within the required statutory timeframes as part of any evidence that is being put forward in any section 47 (or child protection) enquiries. You can refer to our website http://www.frg.org.uk/need-help-or-advice-sheets for more information.
Should you have a specific question or enquiry you would like to ask, please feel free to provide an update here.
I hope this helps.
Best Wishes
Suzie

Dear Suzie
Thank you for your reply.
Am I right in thinking that the police should have been in contact within the section 47 investigation timescale of 45 working days? Am I ok to contact the police or should I wait for them to get in touch? We all miss her so much and really want to get this situation resolved so that we can all move forward with her in our lives.
Regards
