Dear Murray,I am so glad to hear the news .After 4.5 years you have got there at last.

I believe your policy has been generally to cooperate and work with social workers towards this end. This is a lesson to others.

Maybe, when all gets back to normal, you can write us a book with good advice and all the ups and downs of your case.I expect you have a few tales to tell about the scores of sw's and other child-protection professionals you have met along the way.

Why not put something on Blueplanes FEELGOOD THREAD?

All the best for the future!

Amazing news Murray! :D Would you be able to give me some detail via a personal message? I would love to hear how you did it as we hope to be back in court soon to get the placement order and care order discharged for our two kids. Thank you in advance and all the best for the future. When is your child coming home?

Hi, Ange I had a very difficult relationship with the LA in the early days and was very uncooperative and dishonest with them, My child was placed in long term foster care without a view of returning home this was the worst period of my life, CS tried to make findings against me in the finding of fact hearing 5 years ago, non were made directly against me but numerous ones were made regarding my ex with regards to domestic violence and sexual offences against children. I had a huge mountain to climb and felt like most of the things I did were futile, I banged my head against a brick wall until about 18 months ago a new SW and new IRO meant changes. The LA made the application to discharge the care order so it was pretty straight forward.

My Child has been home for 6 months now but as of today is no longer "a looked after child"

I can now see the risk my ex poses to children everywhere and think this is the key to getting my child home.
