Dear Kitty, When consulting you as to a care-plan for your son in accordance with legal guidelines and procedures, the social workers will have already been through the possibility with you.

Or did they ignore the Law and decide for themselves?Sometimes they are not completely open and honest.Perhaps you should ask them now, if they did overlook the procedure, but I doubt if they'll change their plans.

Hi Kitty,

Sometimes foster carers can look after children long term. However, this would usually only happen, if no adopters were found for your child. You could speak to the social worker or independent reviewing officer about whether this might be an option.


Have you been given adoption support worker? They can support you through the process.
You could also contact After Adoption. They have a birth ties helpline for parents who are worried about their child being adopted.
