My mother in law had contact booked with her grandchildren (our kids). She was also baby sitting her other grandchildren and had told the social worker that she would bring them with her to contact. All kids are similar age and the cousins have come on contact before.
The social worker hadn't made a note of the cousins coming with nanny. When she arrived the supervisor requested that my m-i-l take the cousins (aged 4 and 9)home as they weren't listed as coming. Their parents were at work that's why she was babysitting and they wouldn't be home until after contact was due to end. Contact was in the community in a play barn so contained and secure.
Why on earth can't these people do their jobs? To actually request the grandmother take the other kids home? This upsetting our kids who rarely see any of them when they ended up all playing together happily after a call was made back to the office. The social worker was on holiday yet again so m-i-l is going to contact her direct to complain.

Hi Charmed,
I was just wondering if you and family members had signed a contact agreement with CS? I have just looked at an old one I had and it seems pretty rigid in regards to what is expected and who can attend, it outlines what behaviour is expected from myself and other family members at contact. Mine even stated contact would cease if I became visibly upset in front of child (unbelievable I know!), or if I arrived 10 minutes late etc.
As much as I hated signing these things they do seem to ensure no grey areas or mis-understandings. If you do not have anything in place it might be worth asking SW to draw one up for you.
