child in need
An assessment was done on my 3 yr old son and he has been placed on a child in need plan, we havent had any meetings with a social worker to find out the support which can be given. However my son is jamaican, but i have registered him to be british because of his dad, (british citizen), we have experienced domestuc violence from my sons dad and therefore i cannot approach him for documents needed to give the home office. Will social services be able to intervene and fast track his application with the home office, or provide assistance to get my son citizenship sorted?

Dear applebottomshan
Welcome to the parents' discussion board.
I am sorry to hear that you are going through such a difficult time with regards the past domestic abuse and regards your attempt to secure your son's citizenship.
Since your son is under a child in need plan, this could be used to identify the key areas of support for you and your family. For instance, the social worker could make contact with agencies including Project 17, Asylum Support Appeals Project (ASAP) and / or the Home Office on your behalf.
You may wish to be referred to the Freedom Programme and National Domestic Violence Helpline for more assistance designed to raise your awareness about how to keep you and your son safe both now and in the future.
Our family support advice sheet gives some further information that may be of use to you at this time. Alternatively, you may wish to contact the Family Right's Group advice line on 0808 801 0366 Monday to Friday 09.30 am to 03.00 pm for support when Children's Services are involved with your family.
I hope this helps.
Best Wishes
