Hi, my husband is now on the sex offenders register for 10 yrs for downloading childrens images (see prev posts) and has a 10yr SHPO. My question today is I am ok to move the children over to N.Ireland ? I am originally from there and moved to England in 2000. My husband is English and both children were born here but if I wanted to move back to Ireland to be closer to my family, more affordable housing, good education system and a good job opportunity would he be able to contest it. He is not allowed any unsupervised access with children under 16 (although he's convinced he can get that changed) and he only see's them 1 or 2 times every couple of months.
I am just so unhappy where I am and feel that for me to move forward in life I need to move away from the area, from him and his family. The children are VERY excited about possibly moving over there and I would only do it if I knew it was the best for all of us. I cannot forgive my husband for what he has done and by staying here it's just a constant reminder.
Any help/advice would be gratefully received. Thanks

Dear rainrain,
To relocate to Northern Ireland, you would either need permission of your husband (while he has parental responsibility) or if he doesn’t agree, a court order allowing this. As the law governing this is not within our specialism, I suggest you contact Rights of Women. They have some helpful information about relocation here .
Whether or not the court grant you an order will depend on what is in the best interests of your children.
I hope this helps.
Best wishes,
Suzie
