I'm just a parent on here who has just done their first post but I worked at a senior level in education until a couple of years ago. Firstly your mum should not resign. Yes the new forms do ask about others in the home and even an investigation that is dropped with no charges will show on the dbs form if the police consider it relevant. Her employment should not be impacted on unless he is register on the dbs barred list. Even if they caution him and an application to bar is made you can make "representations" not to be barred. I have done this and can advise as can a union if she has one. Good luck.
