Daughter in care

Post by Catmom » Wed Feb 05, 2025 9:47 pm

Since the local authority went to court for guardianship of my adult daughter who has learning disabilities and autism.
At the court hearing the local authority asked the judge for a power for diet and exercise which was given.
Over the years I sent emails about the quality of care my daughter gets.
The emails were about being over weight while under guardianship in 2020.
My daughter was a size 14 when the local authority got guardianship.
Under guardianship my daughter is morbidly obese a size 24 and is on high blood pressure medication.
Why is it social work have removed kids from parents for being morbidly obese yet the social worker has allowed my daughter to now become morbidly obese and taken high blood pressure tablets and get away with it.

Dear Catmom,

Thank you for your post. Welcome to the parents’ forum. I am Suzie, an online adviser responding to you today.

I am afraid Family Rights Group can only advise on social care and public law issues affecting children and young people under 18 and their families and your enquiry relates to your adult daughter.

You could contact the Office of the Public Guardian here to discuss your concerns.

I hope this information was useful to you.

Best wishes,
Suzie
