Having another baby with my husband who is on the SO register
My husband and I have 3 children. He was in prison for 15 months and put in so register. Im that time we had lots of social services involvement child in need and child protection. Eventually everything was closed off he lives at home with us and life is pretty much back to normal. If we decided to have another baby would social services get involved again? Thank you

Thank you for posting again.
Good to see that your involvement with children’s services (the new name for social services) ended with your husband being able to return to the family home and things are back to normal for you all.
Your post today relates to what would happen as far as children’s services is concerned should you and your husband decide to have another baby. Would children’s services become involved again. The short answer is yes because of their previous involvement. I believe a lot would depend on the concerns at the time, the age of the children when the case was closed and the nature of his abusive behaviour and age of child/children involved.
Looking at your previous posts, there was intensive involvement and risk assessments done. The fact that your husband returned home suggests that the assessed risks was probably low and your ability to keep the children safe would have been an important factor.
Children’s services involvement would take account of the history but also focus on where you are now as a family. Their continued involvement would depend on any concerns they have about a baby in the family and likely risks to that child because of the previous child sexual abuse.
You can read information from our website about what happens when children’s services had previous involvement HERE
If you decide to go ahead with another baby, then it is important to be open and honest about your plans and, if you have moved to a new area, there would still be involvement as you would be asked about any previous children’s services involvement when you speak to antenatal services.
Hope this is helpful.
Best wishes
Suzie
