Our daughter is in care, last friday she made some allegations about me and her mum, the police are investigating and social have issued a section 47, we dont know what the allegations are.
The police turned up on friday doing a welfare check on us and the baby. My child has made allegations against us before. Im so scared, as ive been arrested before then nfa.
We aren't allowed to talk to her, and im really need some advice or some clarity

Your daughter is in the care of the local authority and has made an allegation against you. She has made allegations against you in the past. The police were involved at the time, you were investigated with an outcome of no further action (NFA).
The police and children’s services are investigating your child’s allegations, and a Section 47 assessment is underway. You do not know what allegations have been made. You are not allowed contact with your daughter and are seeking advice and clarity regarding the process.
I will assume your baby remains in your care following the welfare check by the police.
If you are subject to Bail conditions which state no contact with your child, children’s services cannot override this. However, children’s services do have a duty of care to promote contact with parents when they are removed from their care and become ‘looked after’ If there are no conditions in place and it is safe to do so.
I am sorry to hear of your distress, whilst it can be daunting when an assessment is being completed it is not a forgone conclusion that it will result in a negative outcome. It may result in further help and support for your daughter and your family. Please see the child protection link above for information and guidance. You will see from this that the assessment is mandatory and should take an holistic approach when information gathering and analysing the information . I would advise you and your partner to fully participate in the process to evidence you are both safe and loving parents.
